A little while ago I shot this story with Metropolis- Kloof Street, styled by Trevor Stuurman. I really enjoyed this collaboration, we pushed each other to shoot in places that we weren’t comfortable shooting (full sun, streets, beauty, two models etc.) and we both learnt alot from each other and had fun at the same time!
I am all for colabs with creatives- some people see it as two competitors (in our case, two photographers) working together which doesn’t make sense to them but to me it is something to learn from and to network from, and in the long run, rise the standard in photography as we all learn from each other and trade tips and tricks.
Our models were two lovely girls from D&A Models who worked so well together and complimented Trevor’s amazing styling!
Our makeup artist was new to Cape Town and did a great job – Jo Rust.
Since the shoot was for fun, and for the girls portfolios I had complete freedom when editing so I added a few splashes of colour and the odd blur which resulted in a raw, dreamy story.
Thanks to Justin Bing for supplying the girl’s boards- the Penny board from Expression On The Beach and trusting us with his longboard.
Well done team!
