Floral Fashion

If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook or twitter, you may be aware that I have recently arrived home from a short holiday in Singapore and Phuket. Arriving home in the Mother City was a shock after leaving a humid 39 degrees city and stepping out into a chilly 12 degrees during midday. This temperature change made me miss the heat immediately and inspired me to look back on a few summer shoots I did this year, one being the below floral themed shoot with Trashcan Rebellion.

Meira and I never set exact locations but rather select an area to shoot. On the day we walk around and see which locations stand out to us, or which locations compliment her outfit most. Sometimes this spontaneous way of shooting works so much better than planning a specific wall or area as one can never be too sure that the location is available or that your outfit may match it perfectly. Meira and I wondered around Kalk Bay, catching up on news and chatting about fashion and Cape Town weather until we spotted a beautiful, simple hibiscus tree…the colours and flowers complimented Meira’s outfit so well. I added a soft pink blur in post production to add an extra feminine feel to the images.

Thanks for always trusting my spontaneous shoot theory, Meira. See you in JHB soon!
